This small 8 hectare vineyard is situated in the Montagne St Emilion region to the north of St Emilion
This small 8 hectare vineyard is situated in the Montagne St Emilion region to the north of St Emilion, here the soils are a little lighter and sandier thus a little lighter bodied and priced. Vieux Ch. Baynard, unusually, is always handed down the female line of the family, the current incumbent Marie-Laure Latorre uses a mix of oak cuves and concrete tanks, 50/50 to age her wine, 75% Merlot 25% Cabernet. This is very attractive and is drinking really well.
Style: medium bodied, elegant, fruity
Maturity: drinking well
