Barone Finis flagship wine is its Valdadige DOC Pinot Grigio. 100% hand harvested grapes are selected from the esteemed wine producing region of Valdadige located in the pristine northern Italian Alps. Our Pinot Grigio showcases aromas of floral and lemon mist with ripe juicy flavors of honeydew and apple filling the mouth. Bright acidity balanced with warm minerality create a lingering crisp finish. Our Valdadige Pinot Grigio has a DOC designation, Italys highest classification for quality, since 1975.Hand harvested, the selected grapes are taken to the excellent, state-of-the-art cooperative winery, where they are put through soft, cold crushing. Juice is then divided into several units, each undergoing a different temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After reaching equilibrium, juice sections are skillfully blended by the winemakers into the final Barone Fini Pinot Grigio. Cultivating vineyards has been a family business since 1497, when the two noble Venetian families of Bonmartini and Fini united in marriage and began producing wine in north-eastern Italy. Today, the estate is run by Giovanni Bonmartini-Fini, who is a successful entrepreneur and winemaker. All of the fruit for Barone Fini is sourced from old vines and is hand harvested and subjected to rigorous hand sorting to ensure that only the best fruit is used. Wines are vinified adhering to the highest standards of production in an ultra-modern winery located atop the ruins of an ancient Roman winery. Despite their use of top line technology, Bonmartini-Fini is adamant that his Pinot Grigios complex aromas and flavours stem from the earth itself.
