The Dowie Doole Tintookie Chenin Blanc is truly unique to Australia and the world. The grapes are sourced from one of Australias oldest Chenin Blanc vineyards; Tintookie, owned by Drew Dowie and Lulu Lunn. The Tintookie Vineyard was planted in 1933 on the cool sandy slopes of Blewitt Springs. The Tintookie Vineyards terrior suits the variety perfectly, emphasising Chenin Blancs vibrant fruit lift and natural acidity. Producing a wine of unique vibrancy, length and if you are patient, incredible ageing potential.
A small parcel of fruit was hand-picked, barrel fermented in older French oak and left on yeast lees for six months prior to bottling. This process added savoury complexity to the natural, vibrant fruit flavours, which, coupled with the variety's natural acidity, will ensure longevity.
Aromas of passionfruit, green apple and pear with a hint of honeysuckle. The palate follows the nose and reveals white fruits and honeysuckle, which will become more pronounced with further bottle maturation. An excellent balance of flavours, with a lemon sherbet backbone. Vegan friendly.

Formed in 1995 by a partnership between Drew Dowie, Norm Doole and Leigh Gilligan. The three partners were passionate about viticulture, and each had a wealth of experience both in and outside the wine making business. They have now retired, and although Drew Doole still sits on the board of directors, the estate is now in the capable hands of award winning wine maker Chris Thomas. Chris has an Oenology Degree from The University of Adelaide, and has worked both in Australia and Europe.
