Blackberry aromas surround a bouquet of cream and a hint of baking spices. This merlot is fruit forward with aromas of blackberry, vanilla cream and baking spices. The mid-palate is dominated by black fruit, leading to a pleasing toasty finish.
Deep purple in colour and filled with pleasant scents of strawberry preserve and fresh cherry. Subtle notes of vanilla and caramel are contributed from the wines time on oak. The bold yet round wine achieves a superb balance of fruit and oak flavours with caramel notes that remain well after the last of the wine is gone. Enjoy alongside sausage casserole or tomato-based pasta dishes.
In 1990 Ron and his wife Jamie, bought their first vineyard and in 1995 McManis Family Vineyards was formed with the purpose-built winery arriving by the end of the Millennium. Now the McManis family own over 2,600 acres between the Ripon area and Lodi in Californias northern interior region.
