Perfumed and concentrated with great focus and balance between exuberant fresh vinosity and fine-grain oak that closes around the youthful bouquet. On the palate, the wine is beautiful, with classic savoury tannins and yet an explosive core of generously proportioned cassis and dark fruits at its heart. Finely stated oak tannins and vinous richness intertwine perfectly on the palate and lead to a thoroughly satisfying, elegant and tightly-defined finish.
The Visionary Cabernet Sauvignon is only produced in extremely limited volumes from exceptional vintages and represents the utmost refinement of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. This wine is an estate grown and bottled Clare Valley cabernet sauvignon crafted from the very finest fruit grown on the Taylor familys Auburn estate.
Beautifully fragrant and complex, with aromas of blackcurrant, beetroot, liquorice, mint, eucalyptus, raspberry and a slice of vanilla spice. The palate is succulent and savoury, with precise, cool climate, deep berry fruit bound in fine-grained tannins, ending in a long and serious finish. Built to last.

'...The Pioneer will continue the work that The Visionary started back in 2009. Both wines have an insane depth of chewy fruit and an impressive retinue of tannins which never seem too sour or over-extracted. The Pioneer packs coffee bean notes into its velvety folds while The Visionary has a grace to power ratio that both the 2009 and 2010 can only dream of. Huge in every respect The Visionary is an indomitable creation with a forty year life ahead of it...'

'This is the third vintage of this Exceptional Parcel Release label. Its a very dense, almost chewy Cabernet Sauvignon, with ripe berry flavours and a solid influence of spicy oak character. Firmly structured red with obvious cellaring potential, although the tannins rather lock in some of the flavour at this relatively early stage. Ive awarded a conservative score while acknowledging the wines potential to grow.'
94 points, Jamie Goode, June 2015
'Lovely aromatics: very Aussie with blackcurrant bud, mint, spice and cedar notes acting together in harmony. The palate shows sweet blackberry and blackcurrant fruit with some fine black cherry notes. Theres a nice savoury spiciness here and a real sense of harmony. Great potential for further development.'

About Wakefield Wines
Wakefield is a third generation family wine business and was founded in 1969 by Bill Taylor who was inspired by his love for the red wines of Bordeauxs Medoc region. He was drawn to South Australias Clare Valley with the attraction of the red-brown loam over limestone soils (also known as Terra Rossa) and the Clare Valleys cool climate which were known to be ideal for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Today Wakefield is headed up by Mitchell Taylor whose philosophy blends an old world estate mind set with new world winemaking innovation; coupled with an almost fanatical attention to detail and obsession with quality. This results in wines of tremendous quality and style that are made with respect for the companys family heritage. Wakefield was recently acclaimed as the most Awarded Winery in the World by The World Association of Wine Writers and Journalists (WAWWJ).
