The 2016 vintage is the greatest vintage Michel Gassier has ever seen in his 23 years of making wine. Naturally moderate yields, a warm and dry growing season with remarkably cool nights produced fresh, concentrated and brilliantly balanced grapes. The Nostre Pais Rouge is deep red with violet highlights. The nose is complex and pure with aromas of cherry, blackberry and hot stones are released with a little aeration. The palate is dense and silky-smooth revealing notes of dried herbs, cacao and pencil lead. The fresh, fruity and lingering finish is heightened by mineral notes and fine tannins. A real crack-a-jack wine.
