Bodega Coto Redondo - Señorio de Rubiós is based in Rías Baixas in Galicia, northwestern Spain. Their O Do Avó Marcelo is a wine with a clean and bright spirit. Produced from hand-harvested grapes, which are pressed carefully, the juice is then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Their goal is to make a quinessential Galician Albariño. The nose of the 2018 is fragrant, fruity and floral, with peaches, apricots and citrus notes whilst the palate is crisp, mineral and fresh. Albariño has become such a popular wine and with examples such as O Do Avó Marcelo, it is easy to "taste" why! Robin Kick MW says "Albariño is one of my "go to" wines. I love its blend of succulent orchard and citrus fruits with a salty zest where you feel like you can almost taste the sea. Wonderful to drink on its own or paired with seafood or lighter fare. One bottle brings forth the next!"
