Patrick Brunet is at helm of this small hardworking family domaine. Originally created in 1970, the domaine was named after his father Robert. Patrick's Fleurie vines are comprised of 5 hectares and lie directly outside his front door. Many of the domaine's gnarled, characterful vines were planted in 1930 and 1935, and this age shows in his wines as they are expressive with appealing ripe fruit and notable layers. This medium ruby wine opens up with a discreet but appealing note of sweet red plum, crunchy cranberry, and tangy red cherry. It reveals wonderful poise and balance with soulful appeal. A wine that will make you think differently about Beaujolais. Robin Kick MW says "I have been buying Patrick's Fleurie since the mid-2000s when I first "discovered" them. A tireless and passionate vigneron, he is able to harness such fruit appeal and combine it with a polished mouthfeel and notable density for the appellation. Depending on the vintage, his wines can also age surprisingly well (easily over a decade!)."
