Marko is the name of Oxer's family house which is surrounded by the vineyard used for this wine. This 8-month lees-aged Txakoli has aromas of apples and pear. Half of the wine is barrel fermented which gives this a wonderful creamy texture, with smoky and yeasty notes and some vanilla and spice. Not your normal Txakoli and one for the adrenaline junkie! Robin Kick MW says "Oxer makes truly distinctive wines in the heart of the Basque Country. In this case, we are on the Basque coast around Bilbao where the Txakoli wines are a bit more powerful and structured. Oxer leans more towards a "natural winemaking" style and this can be felt in this unique cuvée. Only the best grapes are used and the wine is bottled unfiltered."
