Nero dAvola is the most important red wine grape in Sicily and is one of Italys most important indigenous varieties. It is named after Avola in the far south of Sicily and its wines are compared to New World Shiraz, with sweet tannins and plum or peppery flavours.
Messer Del Fauno Nero D'Avola is a delicously tempting dark, rich and intesne ruby red colour which follows through to aromas of ripe blackberry, blueberry and notes of liquorice. It is medium bodied with a rich and balanced palate. In the mouth its soft and smooth, with flavours of blackberry, blueberry, liquorice, hints of black coffee, with healthy and good balanced acidity.
Nero D'Avola expresses a rustic elegance and structure that is not often enough associated with wines from this region.
