Sparkling wines are very popular for any type of celebration and one should know that France does not produce just Champagne! Other regions can make great sparkling using what they call the Méthode Traditionnelle, the one used to make Champagne: bubbles must come from a natural fermentation as opposed to adding gas into the wine, for example. Made only with white grapes (Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Menu Pineau), this is a very refreshing wine with white fruit and floral notes, fine bubbles and a nice persistent finish. Ideal as an aperitif or with a dessert.
