Tasting Notes
In 2014 we were able to make wine once again from Idaho’s only vineyard planted to this classic California varietal, and after 2 years of being sold out, we are excited to again offer this wine to our Wine Club for the October 2016 selection.
It is named after the Devil’s Bedstead, a dramatic 11,864 foot granite peak in central Idaho’s Pioneer Mountains, which is one of our favourite places because of its singularly wild and rugged beauty. This wine reminds us of the Bedstead with its dark, brooding flavours and untamed, expansive finish. Also, a warning: the grapes are some of the ripest we have ever picked, and subsequently this wine has an alcohol level of 16.7%, so please enjoy responsibly on your own favourite mountain –or beach!- with local food, friends and family!
