The 48 hectares of this vineyard are in a single block near the estuary in the north of the commune of Margaux. It has a history dating back to the 13th century, but the modern era started with Pierre de Mons who bought the property in 1623. His family owned the estate until the end of the 20th century. This cru bourgeois chateau is now managed by the Crédit Agricole group whose other properties include Grand Puy Ducasse in Pauillac, Meyney in St Estèphe and Rayne Vigneau in Sauternes.
