Chateau Lucas, founded 1876, is located at the heart of the Lussac-Saint-Emilion appellation. For many generations now, the Vauthier Family has been the owner of this beautiful property. The current manager, Frederic Vauthier, has managed the estate for 20 years, focusing on combining his family's long experience with new techniques of viticulture and vinification. The vineyard covers more than 20 hectares, but only 6 hectares contribute to this Cuvee Prestige.
A very aromatic bouquet, with fruity notes of raspberry and blackcurrant, and plum and vanilla on the palate. The tannins are smooth and well balanced. A grand wine, with classic Bordeaux restraint, which will reward with a little time in the cellar.
Ideal with red meat and lamb. Perfect also with pork stew and hard cheeses such as Comte or Beaufort.
An elegant wine without the opulent style of most Bordeaux at this price-level; excellent value.
