The Portuguese DOC of Dão is one of the oldest demarcated wine-regions in the world. Located inland in the northern part of the country, 120km southeast of Porto, the area has an ancient tradition of wine production, with warm dry summers and abundant winter rainfall. With 6 hectares of vines, planted in 2000 with traditional grape varieties in the heart of the Dão region, the Kelman family seeks to build their own legacy in this beautiful region.
12 months in third-fill French oak. Dark berry fruit, with a wonderful floral character typical of the varietal. Oak influence is subtle, with a hint of cedar on the finish. A delightful wine, intense yet bright and elegant.
A surprisingly flexible wine for pairing – as impressive with feathered game or goose as with beef.
2340 bottles produced; vegan friendly. Sourced from specific, carefully selected, low-cropping Touriga Nacional vines which have consistently produced wines of perfect balance and intensity.
