The Sierra Catanbria Gran Reserva from Spain's top winery Sierra Cantabria is only made in the beautiful years. The Gran Reserva is a blend of mainly Tempranillo with a little Graciano. The wine ages 24 months in 25% new French and American oak and is bottled without filtration. The wine then has years of bottle aging before it is released.
The wine is surprisingly soft and elegant at the first start, but after some rolling a pallet of scents is released. In the nose we smell beautiful notes of sandalwood, Asian herbs, incense, violets, minerals and various black fruits, which leads to a strong, strong wine with an excellent volume & concentration with densely packed, layered fruit. Already a delicious drink but we recommend opening the wine an hour in advance or decanting otherwise
Simply (again) a beautiful wine from Hermanos Eguren !
