A living legend is John Duval, who was the main winemaker of Penfolds for 29 years and therefore responsible for the famous Grange. In addition, John was 'Winemaker of the Year' at the International Wine and Spirit Competition, twice 'Red Winemaker of the Year' at the International Wine Challenge and winemaker of the Penfolds Grange 1990 that was awarded 'Wine of the Year' by the prestigious American magazine Wine Spectator. Since 2003, John has been making his own wines in a very limited edition. The fruit comes mainly from over 100 year old vineyards in Barossa.
The Entity of Duval is a 100% Shiraz. The wine is clear dark red in the glass. In the nose beautiful tones with berry fruit, raspberries, plums and cherries. In the mouth firm and elegant at the same time with aromas of dark chocolate and mocha. The wine has a broad and powerful taste with concentrated ripe tannins and elongated, sweet fruit chocolate, dried figs and dates in the back of the palate. The aftertaste is intense and long.
