The famous Chateau Mouton Rothschild was the only chateau to have been promoted to a higher category in 1973 and entered the Premiers Grand Crus elite. The wines of Baroness Philipine de Rothschild are known for the changing label per harvest with each time an image of a different artist. The character of the wine is characterized by red berries and cedar wood with in the last decade an expansion of a share of more than 10% Merlot. Château Mouton-Rothschild is world famous. It is located in the Bordeaux in Pauillac, on the border with Saint-Estèphe. It is next to another famous winery: Château Lafite-Rothschild. The winery covers 74 hectares and a lot of cabernet sauvignon, but also merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot are added. Especially in full maturity, the Mouton-Rothschild can be recognized by its bouquet, pure cabernet sauvignon.

The 2015 Mouton Rothschild is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc aged in 100% new oak. The 2015 volume is unprecedentedly beautiful and with very high ratings. The Mouton has a deep garnet-purple-red color in the glass with intense notes of blackberry jam in the nose, cassis cream with perfectly accentuated accents of sandalwood, cinnamon, roses, non-smoked cigars. The 2015 Mouton is medium to full-bodied and the mouth is completely filled with rich, ripe black fruit sparked with red fruit undertones and an incredible structure of very firm, very ripe tannins with a seamless freshness and an epic long finish. Bottle it for at least 7-8 years, and drink it for the next 30+ years.
