A beautiful red wine with respect for nature and the wine (and wine lovers) produced. The philosophy of Vina Sastre is clear: "Create a small production with the utmost care." The cultivation of the vineyards has been ecological since the beginning, based on the idea that the quality of the soil and the uniqueness of each grape vine are present in the wine. The entire process is natural - no mineral fertilizer is used, nor any inorganic pesticides or chemicals.
The grapes from Sastre Crianza come from specific vineyards along the Duero River, located at an altitude of 800m. The sticks are between 20 and 60 years old. The grapes are harvested manually which allows a very careful selection. Upon arrival in the cellar, they are de-pressed and gently pressed, after which juice and peels undergo the alcoholic fermentation and further maturation. After removing the skins, the wine continues to rest until it undergoes its lactic acid fermentation. Finally, the wine ages for 14 months in French and American oak barrels (225l).
In the glass, the wine is intense cherry red with a hint of violet. In the nose, the Sastre Crianza has a complex nose with aromas of black fruit, followed by tobacco, vanilla and spices. On the palate this medium to full bodied wine is very pleasant and somewhat creamy with a smooth onset drawn by black fruit, followed by powerful balanced tannin. Complex full wine with lots of potential.
