The non-vintage (NV) Lustau East India Solera is a cream sherry that has had a bearing on pedro ximenez barrels. Centuries ago, sherry-filled barrels - the so-called soleras - were placed on board the ships as extra ballast. During the trip to the east, the sherry appeared to develop delicious aromas. The East India blended a blend of 12-year-old Don Nuno Oloroso (80%) and 12-year-old San Emilio Pedro Ximenez and has matured together for a further three years in a special, slightly warmer part of the bodega due to its character replicate the wines that were transported to India by boat in the past.
The sherry wine is mahogany colored with a green-orange border with aromas of dried fruit, nuts and raisin. The taste contains a delicate soft sweetness, but is also full, complex and beautifully aged. Furthermore, this top wine has a long aftertaste. This (dessert) sherry goes great with cheeses.
Shelf life 1-2 months after opening.
