Hannes Storm's Ignis Pinot Noir hails from a northern slope in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. The vineyard is cluttered with round pebbles on the soil surface with underlying decomposed Granite. Latin for fire, Ignis makes reference to the igneous rock, Granite.

Hannes uses only 30% new oak, natural yeasts and does not filter the wines at all which gives them a vibrancy and energy which is really exciting. The Ignis has raspberry and wild strawberry notes, an underlying subtle wood spice and a beautiful silky tannin structure.
