Sue Bell was voted Australian Society of Viticulture & Oenology Winemaker of the Year the year this was made in 2014, so it's a vintage of some significance. It's also jolly delicious.
Coonawarra Cabernet is one of the iconic wines of Australia, grown in famous terra rossa soils along the World Heritage listed Limestone Coast. Complex, structured, long-lived, inimitable.
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown by Mike & Brent Wetherall, hand-picked and fermented naturally in tight-grain French oak barrels, only a small proportion of new oak. All this makes for a magnificent and memorable wine: deep blackcurrant fruit, minty eucalyptus, tobacco, spice and an intense, lingering finish.
